Money has been demonized by society, but why? Because once we realize it's a spiritual game, the more we free ourselves from the beliefs we've been programmed to accept and heal our relationship with abundance—the understanding that we are connected to everything—the more we become free humans who cannot be controlled. Thank you for sharing your journey. I celebrate that you are working on this aspect of your life. It will bring expansion to you and those who cross your path. ✨ps: I once also have a turbulent relationship with money, my story is similar to yours. 🫶

Going through something like this now. Also it’s my second time today reading about abundance/scarcity in a money context. It’s no coincidence I saw your post appear on my feed and I believe this synchronicity is sending me a message.

Thank u for sharing your story and emotions boldly. You’re strong and you’ve overcome so much. You owe it to yourself to treat yourself every now and then ☺️

Thanks for writing this! I've been wrestling with money trauma recently as a kid raised in a FIRE household - and then compounded with layoffs - and the struggle to deprogram is so real. Recently saw that there is a whole new field of therapy just dedicated to finances and how mental health reveals itself there which I think is brilliant.

Sorry that you have also had to deal with this growing up but also that is great to hear about therapy dedicated to the effects of money trauma. Very much needed!

Thanks for sharing this and being quite vulnerable. I’ve never heard the phrase money trauma but now that I have and now that you’ve explained it quite eloquently I definitely feel like I have it. I grew up in a fairly low income house, and I feel insanely guilty sometimes just spending money on new clothes or a dinner out

Thank you for reading and sharing your story too! Yeah, definitely something working through but highly recommend Happy Money. It is helping a lot with this!

definitely agree that your past experiences can deeply affect your relationship with money! I’ve also learned that a lot of people may look like they have tons of money but are also living paycheck to paycheck to keep up appearances (more than you would think!) If you haven’t read the book The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel yet I think you would really enjoy it! It was a really interesting read for me! 💵

Yes agreed! Also, love that book! A good reminder to add that to the rereading list as well :)

Money trauma needs much more attention. I've often seen people roll their eyes when I mention those two words together. Thank you, Max, for sharing your story (so beautifully).

Thanks for sharing your experience! I definitely can relate, it’s so true that the stress stays with you even after you are in a better place financially. It’s hard not to live waiting for the other shoe to drop but worth the work to move into gratitude and towards peace! 👌

I’m glad you are doing better now. I also grew up in a rich town in a family that wasn’t. We weren’t struggling but we were definitely struggling to keep up the with Joneses and that mentality really painted how I saw the world for a while. trying to deprogram now.

Very relatable. I got on meds to help with it and they did. Now I care about nothing and it’s awesome.
