Hey everyone,
I’ve been writing every day this week and it’s been a lot of fun. I’m writing to write, get my thoughts out there and who knows maybe have something to turn into my next post. But, my goal is just to write and have fun doing it.
I’ve been enjoying Substack Notes a lot too. So many great writers and people sharing their thoughts, their work, and being supportive. It’s a refreshing place to be outside of traditional social.
Let’s get into it:
I’m a big fan of routines, but even for me sometimes I have to switch it up a bit. It’s okay to try something new in the mix to see if it helps you or something you want to leave behind.
If you’re an overthinker like me, it’s good to just remind yourself to focus on what’s right in front of you. What needs to get done now, what do you need to do at this moment? Less future casting, and more action.
At the end of the day, we’re all just working on ourselves. Even the people you think have it all together are having the same thoughts as you.
Pop the bubble. With social media, our friend groups, and the content we consume, we often can be in this bubble with our way of comparing and thinking. When we expand our horizons and viewpoint a bit, we might see that what we have is more than most.
Living in this heat these past few weeks, my sister and I were chatting about our love for Freeze Pops as kids and how we still enjoy them on warm days. Brought back a lot of memories!
Pictured here is Celeste and I at a recent Euflora pop up :)
Song of the week
I was going to a radio station on Spotify and this throwback came on. It instantly brought me back to my early high school days. What an era!
As always, I appreciate you for spending a part of your Sunday with me. I hope that you have a great rest of your day and see you next week :)
I like what you said about routines. I LOVE routines. I'm a big nerd and I like to plan every little goal or target I have and I am obsessed with tracking my prgress. Routines help me do that.
But at the same time, I don't do well outside of routines and they can be a hinderence when it comes to my relationships and social life. Even creatively, there has to be some deliberate exposure to disruption (IMO of course) that inspires a spark. Breaking out of your routine can help with that.
Maybe a new unfamiliar song, a route to work, a new flavor of ice cream. That's how I force myself to do go out of routine.
