Fun fact, since graduating college (coming up on 12 years now 🫨) I have changed my career focus 5 times.
I started off working in the music industry, transitioned into marketing, started my own freelance business, went into coaching, and now into community.
Growing up, I witnessed firsthand (and only hand) my Mum switch her career path dozens of times and each one serendipitously led her into the next. It showed me at a very young age that it's okay to not have everything figured out and that sometimes you have to go with the flow.
The point is, I wouldn't have found what I consider my calling working in community without stumbling through other career focuses beforehand. Also, as much as I love community, who really knows what I will be doing 10+ years from now. Things change, that is the only constant.
TL;DR: It is okay to change your mind and career trajectories are rarely ever linear. Enjoy the journey.
